A vibrant public transportation system is essential to Montgomery County's economic and social well-being. By investing in public transportation we can cut emissions, reduce congestion, and promote economic development, particularly in communities outside the beltway. A Bus Rapid Transit system with reversible lanes is the most effective, environmentally conscious way of reducing traffic.

Public Transit

Chris will lobby state officials to find a dedicated source of funding for the Metro, and push to expand late night and weekend service.

Say "No" to I-495 Expansion

Governor Hogan recently proposed a multi-billion dollar plan to widen I-495 and introduce privately operated toll lanes. Chris will rally county residents and officials to oppose this plan, which was a complete disaster when implemented in Virginia. If implemented, it would cause serious environmental damage in neighborhoods near the Beltway and draw badly needed funds away from our current infrastructure needs.
